Focusing on what is good

Day 70:

“Fix Your Mind On What Is Good”

~With so much going on these days and with all the challenges that I face, today’s devotion was everything!

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:8–9”

“In the struggles and the busyness of everyday life, staying focused on the Lord is certainly a challenge. Be disciplined to make time every day to pray and reflect on God and His goodness. This is the work of the heart and the path to true recovery and freedom. Today, I encourage you to take your eyes off of food, the scale, the diets, and the insane weight goals. Then, fix your mind on what is true and honorable, right and pure, lovely and admirable.

If you really want to live in peace, start focusing on the health of your soul. Don’t be caught up in the insanity and busyness of the world, and don’t be overwhelmed by discouragement when it comes your way. Fixing your thoughts on the heart of God is a choice you have to keep making. I hope you will put one foot in front of the other today: Practice, practice, and practice some more, and you will find your piece.”
